PEARL EDUCATION
Five pearl families, each shaped by a different mollusk, environment, and rhythm of cultivation.
CULTURED BY PEOPLE, FORMED BY NATURE
A trained pearl farmer introduces a nucleus or mantle tissue into a suitable mollusk. The animal responds by laying down nacre over time. Water quality, species, climate, cultivation period, and human care all influence the finished pearl.
No two pearls are perfectly identical. Luster, surface, shape, colour, and size are evaluated after harvest, then matched for a finished piece.
THE FIVE VARI PEARL FAMILIES
FRESHWATER
A broad range of sizes, shapes, and natural colours makes Freshwater pearls ideal for modern design, daily wear, and accessible luxury.
AKOYA
Known for a refined round shape and sharp reflection. Akoya is a natural choice for traditional strands, studs, and milestone gifts.
TAHITIAN
Often called black pearls, Tahitian pearls can reveal silver, green, blue, aubergine, and peacock overtones in changing light.
GOLDEN SOUTH SEA
Large scale and naturally golden colour create a rich presence, from pale champagne through deep saturated gold.
WHITE SOUTH SEA
Often cultivated in Australia and nearby regions, White South Sea pearls are prized for generous size and a smooth, satiny glow.
A NOTE ON ORIGIN
Within every family, grade, size, surface, matching, and design determine the final appearance and value.
FROM WATER TO JEWELLERY
A healthy mollusk is carefully nucleated or grafted by a trained technician.
Farmers monitor water, weather, health, and growth as nacre forms.
Each pearl is assessed for luster, surface, shape, colour, size, and nacre.
Pearls are paired or assembled so the finished design feels coherent from every angle.
