THE VARI GUIDE
Type, grade, size, colour, length, metal, and certificates, made clear.
START WITH HOW YOU WANT TO WEAR THEM
A pearl’s value is never decided by size alone. Begin with the intended use, then compare pearl type, luster, surface, shape, matching, colour, and proportion.
For a first piece, choose a versatile scale and a silhouette you can imagine wearing often. For a milestone, move toward rarer pearl types, higher grades, larger sizes, or precious-metal details.
THE SIX-STEP METHOD
Classic strand, airy station, single pendant, everyday studs, sculptural ring, or coordinated set.
Freshwater, Akoya, Tahitian, Golden South Sea, or White South Sea.
AA+ for character and value, AAA for elevated refinement, or AAAA for the highest VARI selection.
Compare the visual presence of 5–15mm pearls and the position of each necklace length.

LENGTH & METAL
For strands, 16 inches sits close, 18 inches is the most versatile, 20 inches adds ease, and 24 inches or more supports layering. Measure where you want the necklace to fall.
